Personal training at Four Gates takes your state of health and fitness to the next level, right away. Whether you seek weight loss, event training, pain management, sport specific training or an improved mind-body connection, we can create an effective program for you.
I specialize in customizing programs for clients with various health related goals. Postural assessment, functional strength training, weight loss, corrective exercise and post rehabilitation, as well as sport specific training are among my personal strengths and I enjoy the challenge of finding creative ways to help my clients succeed.
Progression is key! It is extremely important to progress clients in a safe and effective manner by starting with basic movements and over time implementing more complexity and skill. This is a defining factor of training at Four Gates.
Everyone is unique and should be treated as such. There is no one size fits all or cookie cutter approach to training, so I will listen, observe, and give/take feedback to create a unique program for you!
If you are interested in personal training I offer a free 20-30 minute consultation to go over goals, injuries/illnesses, and any other questions you may have.

A passion for exercise provided Mike with a quality of life worth living, and inspiration from kettlebell training lead him to become a trainer a Four Gates.
Mike graduated from a 500-hour program at the National Personal Training Institute, and also holds an ACPT certificate. Training at Four Gates he has witnessed how physical exercise and proper nutrition are transformative to your mind, body and spirit, and how it is through movement that the mind-body connection comes into effect.
Mike knows firsthand the power of correct breathing, proper mechanics and technique, and is committed to teaching these to his clients and the students in class. He is grateful to live and work where he grew up in South Minneapolis, and wouldn’t have it any other way.
