Christian

Christian Doten is an ACE certified and Kettlebell Concepts certified trainer, and holds an advanced personal training certificate and associates degree in massage therapy and postural/structural assessment from the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences. He specializes in healing injuries through corrective exercise and has a talent for identifying mechanical and postural imbalances. Whether you are training to for the Ironman race or simply want the strength needed to keep up with your grandkids, Christian is your trainer.

Christian designed Four Gates to be a fitness studio that offers accessible training to the diverse population of clients he serves, and kettlebell training was the perfect answer for how to teach a group of people with different levels of fitness and different fitness goals.  Kettlebells give you a cardio and endurance workout, maximum calorie burning, the most functional strength training possible and they even increase your flexibility-- all at the same time!

Kettlebell training also requires the focus and mindful techniques associated with eastern energetic practices such as yoga and qi gong. This allows Christian to create programs and classes that synthesize the benefits of ancient energetic traditions with modern exercise science— a new physical and energetic culture.

Mike LaSota

A passion for exercise provided Mike with a quality of life worth living, and inspiration from kettlebell training lead him to become a trainer a Four Gates.  Mike graduated from a 500 hour program at the National Personal Training Institute, and also holds an ACPT certificate.  Training at Four Gates he has witnessed how physical exercise and proper nutrition are transformative to your mind, body and spirit, and how it is through movement that the mind-body connection comes into effect. Mike knows firsthand the power of correct breathing, proper mechanics and technique, and is committed to teaching these to his clients and the students in class. He is grateful to live and work where he grew up in South Minneapolis, and wouldn’t have it any other way.
